Romeo Launches Olympic Torch Display!

The world's smallest bodybuilder comes to Ripley's!

As London gets ready to host the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Ripley’s is hosting two weeks of sporting fun this Easter with Romeo Dev the world’ smallest body builder! Pictured here with Zoe Smith and Jo Calvino, two 2012 Olympic weightlifting hopefuls for Britain.

The 2ft 9in bodybuilding star from India will be showing off his miniature skills and super toned body over the Easter holiday period. Romeo, who at just 1st 6lbs is capable of lifting custom made dumbbells weighing 1.5kg will not only be demonstrating his formidable strength but also giving visitors the chance to have their photograph taken with him!

Olympic Torch Display arrives!

From Thursday the 9th of April visitors will also be able to see 18 authentic Olympic torches which is the largest of original Olympic torches in the World and represents some of the most significant games of the last century.

Some of the highlights from the collection include the original Olympic torch used in the 1936 Berlin Olympics and the torch from the 1968 Mexico City Olympics where Dick Fosbury won the gold medal in the high jump using the new, radical Fosbury flop technique, which quickly became the dominant technique in the event.

Visitors will also be able to see one of only ten known Muhammad Ali autographed torches and the Sydney 2000 Olympiad torch, whose design married the shape and style of the Australian boomerang and Sydney Opera House and was carried underwater while lit to the opening ceremony.

In addition to Romeo and the Olympic torch display, by paying the normal admission price over the two week Easter Holiday period, visitors will be helping generate a donation towards SportsAid, the charity that supports Britain’s next generation of sporting heroes!
